The pictures turned out cute once again even without his big full smile.
Oh how we love this boy.

Moses is My Homeboy

I am 32 years old. I should know better. I should act my age. But every time we sing "Keep the Commandments" at church, when we get to the part that says "Words....of a prophet" I always want to sing "Word....to your mother."

Birthday Boy!

I can't believe that James is already one. Where has the year gone? He is still such a sweet boy and lets me cuddle with him. I admit that I'm okay with him being a little clingy and kind of a mamma's boy. Emma never was and never let me cuddle her so it's kind of nice. I think James had a great birthday he seems to enjoy his toys when Emma is not playing with them. He also loves cake and icecream which we have had several times now with the leftovers. We celebrated Saturday night with the Van Bibbers and Sunday night with the Lavenders.

Not too interested yet but big sis is there to show him what to do.

Finally starts to understand there is something in here for me.

James got mostly summer clothes which he needed and just a few toys. He got a fire truck, a hammer and peg board (what was I thinking) and a car mat from the movie cars that came with Lighting McQueen and Sally, very cool.

He wanted to play with the fire truck right away. It also fits with our Lego's which is fun.

The car mat.

A cake just for James!

He was not shy at all. He dove right in.

So good.

We all had fun just watching him enjoy his cake. Grandma and Grandpa Van Bibber, Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Zundel, Aunt Carly and Aunt Annie were all there.

Now to the Lavender party. He is ready to dive in now that he knows what to do.

Cars jammies, yeah!

A guitar to rock out on. Emma steals this to the most.

Our big boy is also walking pretty well now. He can walk across the room but if he falls when I am chasing him he just crawls because he can get away much faster. It's so cute. But I know he will be running in no time.

Already starting in on the sports with this cute batting practice toy.

More cake and ice cream.

He loves it.

Oh yeah!

Happy Birthday James

Family Home Evening

Last night we headed to the Rec Center to let Emma climb the wall for Family Home Evening. We had wanted to go swimming but not with it snowing so we did this instead.

James is walking about 7-9 steps by his self but not on this slick floor in his shoes.

A fun night.

A Trip Downtown!

This past Thursday a few of us Moms from the ward decided to take the kids on a trip downtown. We were headed to the Church History Museums kids exhibit. We thought it would be a fun adventure to take the train in. The kids were so excited. So we headed downtown on Front Runner and then to Temple Square on trax. It was great. The kids were so good.
Here are a few of us on the train.

Smile James.

We're here!

James decided to do a little gardening.

Going for a drive.

Gathering eggs.

Cooking dinner.

Dinner with the Missionaries.

Learning dances from Mexico.

Emma loved putting on this fun skirt and dancing, something that I can't get her to do at home. Sure makes a difference when everyone else is doing it.

Beautiful girls.

We went outside for a snack and the kids had just as much outside as inside. They just ran around this little plaza before we headed back in for a little while.

Getting ready to get back on the train to head home.

Burning off some energy before boarding the train.

In all we had a wonderful day. The weather worked out great. It poured that morning and then again as soon as we got home but we had some blue skies in between. I can't wait to do this again. It was nice to go with someone. I had someone to talk to, Emma had someone to play with. Between the four of us Moms we were all able to help each other keep an eye on all ten kids. They were also able to help me get my big stroller on and off the trains. For 4 hours of fun it only cost me my train ticket.
