Welcome 2016

Since 2015 was a very crazy year for our family I'm not going to play catch up. We will just start fresh with 2016 and hope for a calmer year. We had a very enjoyable Christmas with all our family but it was so nice to get back to sleeping and eating normal.

Emma and Mia enjoying their Rudolf and Abominable Snowman suckers from Christmas.

One day after school was back in after kindergarten we went and had lunch with Quinn. He got a promotion and is now a Quality Manager. He now has his own office and we had not seen it yet. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture. After lunch we made a quick trip to the aquarium so we could be home when Emma got out of school.

The 18th and 19th of January the kids were out of school for MLK day and a teacher prep day so we had some fun. Monday we took Grandma Van Bibber to the Natural History Museum. The kids still love anything to do with dinosaurs and animals. It was a fun day although you wouldn't know it by this picture. This was at the end of the day and no one wanted to look at or smile at the camera.

The kids love teasing me with this snake because I don't react well at all to it and they think it is hilarious. The snake does look very life like. They would love a pet snake if I would allow it. It gives me the chills just thinking about it.

Learning about water erosion is so much fun when you are just playing with sand.
A rare moment when they are all getting along.

Tuesday we invited some friends to go along with us to the Church History Museum. Coen, Kate and Xander Drommond are good friends and I am so happy that we live so much closer to them that the kids can walk back and forth and I no longer have to drive them. The kid area of the museum was just redone and opened again. The kids like it but there are not as many activities to keep them occupied as there were. It was a fun little kids area with camels and large blocks to climb and jump on.

I love the picture hanging behind Mia. The room is centered around Christ and all the art work is so lovely.

The kids loved playing with the colored light up geometric tiles and blocks.
These are better than your normal blocks for these allow you to design temples.

Mia is so cute right now and is talking like crazy!

Wow, that is a full van!!

This girl has decided she no longer needs naps and only takes one about once a week. This is how I found her one day. She slept on the floor for about half and hour. When I noticed that she had moved I opened the door to let her come out of her room and found her asleep again in her bed. She had woken up and tucked herself in bed and fell back asleep. Cute girl. Good news is that even though she doesn't nap she plays very well with her toys (usually Minnie Mouse or her princesses) for a couple of hours so I can still get something done or have quiet time myself.

2016 is off to a great start!
