Fun at Lagoon

Saturday was Quinn's work Lagoon day. We had a blast and ended up staying longer than we thought we would. The kids had a great day, even James enjoyed it this year.

I even got to ride a few of the kiddie/family rides after clearing it with my doctor. Quinn grabbed his friend whose wife is also pregnant and got to ride two of the big roller coasters while we sat and watched the kids play in the dirt. Not fair!

James did enjoy all the rides he went on but some of them started like this but once it got going he had fun.

James was just tall enough for this ride so we all got to go and we all got completely soaked!
James and I rode the train while Emma and Dad went on some for the bigger kid rides.
This was by far James favorite ride. It has a gun that makes noise and he is giving me his best I'll shoot you face!

Baby Update

Well, we have an it!  This baby did not cooperate for my 16 week ultrasound. It was all curled up and not showing anything. Bumbed that I have to wait a whole month more. Oh well, just puts off the baby naming fight/struggle a little longer.

Davis County Fair

Last weekend we headed to the Davis County Fair for the first time ever for all of us. We had a great time and the kids enjoyed everything especially the snow cones!

This line didn't seem too long when we got in it but boy were we wrong after 30 minutes I was getting restless, thank goodness there was a giant sandbox for the kids to play in right there. So 50 minutes later the kids got their balloons. Emma was really excited and James really wanted a sword but he did not want to get anywhere near that clown.

The final product: a butterfly hat and a sword. Bad news for the hat, Emma popped it 2 minutes later. Amazingly the sword last an hour or two.

A great petting zoo: goats, sheep, a cow, a llama, a camel, a tortoise, a bunny and a donkey.

Prize winning chickens and bunnies.

Snow cones!

Blow-up slides and bouncy houses which James enjoyed this time. Can't figure this kid out.

We were able to talk Emma out of riding the carnival rides only because Quinn's Lagoon Day is coming up. Overall a great evening at the fair.

Bear Lake

Last weekend we headed to Bear Lake for the first time this year. I can't believe it took us so long to get up there. It has been a weird summer. But we made it and had a blast. On our way up we stopped in a campground in Logan Canyon for Quinn to find one of his letter boxes. We saw a moose standing in the river - take that Taylor. The kids had fun exploring and climbing on rocks while we waited for Quinn. This really helped the kids with the drive. They were so good! I only had to pull out something for them to do the last half hour.

This is why we were not able to go with Quinn on his treasure hunt as Emma calls them.
The next day we hit the beach and it was perfect. I don't know how we got so lucky but we got three days in a row with no wind. Amazing!

Love this new floaty, it holds his chest and head up out of the water. It's so much better than the life jacket which just dumps him face first but James is not used to it yet so he is protesting by sitting in the shade.

We thought it was just going to be Uncle Curt and Aunt Cindy and family with us this weekend but then Shelia and Corinne and their kids came up. I am so glad they did because the kids really had a blast with each other. Then Saturday morning Uncle Brad showed up with his girls for the day.  It was just like the old days.
Sorry for the bare bum but it is so cute I couldn't resist. I forgot swim diapers and was not going to buy some for one day. So he just wore a regular diaper which soaked up so much water it finally just fell off of him.

Fun in the sand!

Two cute sleeping kids. James slept most of the night on the floor. I did pick him up twice during the night but he always ended up like this. This was his first time not in a crib or playpen. Good thing it wasn't too cold.
Playing games!

Happy Pioneer Day at Red Butte Gardens

Just some of my favorites from the day spent with the kids at Red Butte Gardens with Aunt Annie and Grandma Van Bibber.
Counting fish!
Lots of small walk ways and places to hide.
Ride that lizard Emma.

In the fragrance garden.
