Busy Kids

In February we enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics. The kids had fun with M&Ms during the opening ceremonies making the Olympic rings.

Everyday Mia pulls the books off the shelf just like the other kids did at this age. Occasionally she looks at some of them.

We weren't able to go to Lavender birthdays because some of us were not feeling 100% and Christian had whooping cough which Mia is not fully immunized for yet. So we stayed hope and Grandma Lavender brought Mia her cupcake. I think she was tired and Emma is clearly bugging her.

Once she started eating her cupcake she was just fine though,.

This girl is into everything in the blink of an eye. She loves to pull the clean laundry out of the basket and dump it on the dirty kitchen floor. She also makes a bee line for the bathroom if the door is left open to play with the toilet paper.

Mia's first experience at the park this year was not much fun for her. She hated the grass, the slide and the swing, crying on all of them. Her second time went slightly better, she now kind of likes the swing.

Emma came home from school with free tickets to a Utah Gymnastics meet so we decided to try it. We invited some of our friends along too. The kids had fun riding the train and were very excited to get a treat. They were a little too excited because the asked non-stop to get one. All through the first half and then once we got one it was gone way to fast and then they complained about how hungry they were for the second half. It was not a fun night. I was not able to really see or enjoy any of the meet. (So glad we left Mia with a babysitter) We will not be going back anytime soon. Family outing fail!

One moment of cuteness.

Happy Groundhog Day!

February 2nd is one of our favorite holidays because it is Groundhog Day! We love it, can't get enough of it. Or maybe we love it because it happens to be Quinn and Baby Mia's birthdays. Except she is not really a baby any more because this girl is now 1 year old. We won't mention how old Quinn is. We can't believe it is her birthday already. Where has the year gone. Mia is sweet, easy going, happy, smart and cute as a button. She smiles easily now except for her pictures. She loves to feed herself but will only allow me to feed her certain things and only when she is in the mood. She refuses to walk but that is probably because she crawls so fast. Watch out because she loves the stairs! Mia's personality is also coming out. She definitely has her own opinions.

Birthday Buddies!

"Emma back off, I got this!"

Mia didn't get many presents because she didn't really need anything.
She did get a new car seat though.

We always love new books!

Quinn got a PS3 and a game.

Anne and Brock found him a Darth Vader head lamp.

Cake! (apparently I didn't have a picture of it, just video)

She loved it!

Cake and ice cream for all.

The day of Quinn's actual birthday was the Super Bowl so here he is enjoying his birthday dinner of Taco Soup and watching the game.

Mia in her new shirt from Grandma, love it.

One year pictures: no smiles again but still cute.

Got the pictures of the cakes from my Dad!
