Happy 4th of July

We finally had some free time for Quinn to help James learn to ride his bike with out training wheels. This is a must before school starts!

He did it!

Emma is always a great motivator.

Time for fireworks!

June goes out with a bang

This girl managed to bite through her own lip one night while bouncing on her ball that you sit on that has a handle to bounce with. There was a huge gaping hole inside her lip and smaller one on the outside. After dropping Emma and James off at Grandma's we took her up to the ER at Primary Children's Hospital because if she needed sedation for stitches that's where they would send us anyway. The bleeding had finally stopped by the time we got there and she was doing really well.

She was even able to drive!

She was examined and the Dr. decided she would only need about 2 stitches on the outside. They don't do anything inside because it heals so fast and so well on it's own. Here she is with the numbing gel on.

We love this place! This girls job is to make your kid happy and feel safe. She came in with a doll and had Mia help her clean her chin and pretend to fix it. She helped Mia understand what the doctor would do. She is also there during the procedure to distract with toys and book and an ipad. Mia was doing so well and was so calm we went ahead with no sedation. The doctor was able to get the stitches in with minimal crying from Mia. At one point she just very calmly asked her to stop crying and hold still and that she was almost done. It worked. (Never works for me!)

Here she is with Dad all done!

Now it's a liquid diet for the next few days until the hole in her mouth closes.

Woods Cross City Recreation

Emma and James had three weeks (two times a week) of classes at the park. They boy chose to do basketball. Emma was able to do this with her BFF Kate as she calls her. They had fun but the hoop is still really tall for both. Emma made a few more baskets than she did last year though.

James also did Adventure Camp where he did activities and games centered around a theme for the day. This day was the Wild West. He painted a cactus, made a sheriffs badge and roped a cow.

Mia got two whole hours to just play at the park twice a week. She loved it!

Emma's other class was Science Camp. She learned about rockets, bubbles and what happens when you mix baking soda and vinegar and made ice cream.
