13th Wedding Anniversary

For our 13th Wedding Anniversary Quinn planned a weekend get a way. He booked us a room at the Homestead in Midway and bought us tickets to see the Ice Castles.  To make it all happen we had help from lots of family. Grandma Lavender came over a Friday afternoon so we could leave early. She stayed with the kids for a few hours and then took James home with her for a sleep over. Our kids love having one on one time with Grandparents.  After Grandma came Aunt Mckenna and Uncle Taylor for the evening. They stayed until Aunt Annie and Uncle Brock and Ragnar (their dog) could come and stay over night. They were also nice enough to stay all of Saturday too.

Friday afternoon we saw the Ice Castles. It was cold but really fun to see. It was also nice to just enjoy them and not be one of the many parents telling their kids to stop running. don't break the icicles and to put their gloves back on.

It was also nice to be out of the horrible air in the valley. Blue sky!!

It was definitely cold and this hot chocolate was really good (but it's not hard to beat the sugar free kind I usually drink). It also passed some time so we could see the lights come on.

We Stayed the night at the Homestead. We weren't quite sure what to expect but we both assumed it was all one building. It is not but is a bunch of separate cottages. Which is fine unless it is 20 degrees and you want to go sit in the hot tub but don't want to walk outside. So we had a yummy dinner in the main building and skipped the hot tub.

Here are some of the cute cottages.

And here is the one we stayed in. Not very cute and the room was not really worth the money he paid but I guess we were really paying for the location.

We did not want to pay the extra money to swim in the natural hot springs but went for a look.
It's inside this big mound.

It was very steamy inside so the pictures are not that good but you can swim or scuba dive here.

Next it was lunch at the Dairy Keen and shopping at the outlets. Last of all we saw the movie Joy.
Thanks for the great anniversary. It's nice that the kids are old enough that we can do something fun for ourselves.

And of course I can't forget my gorgeous roses. Thanks Quinn. Love you!
