Week 21 - Bear Lake Again

Bear Lake - Wed. Aug. 5th - Sun. Aug. 9th

Daniel was able to get a week off in Aug and decided to come to Bear Lake again. The rest of us were able to make it up at some point. All except Carly, Jeff and Ruby. Daniel, Lyla, and Me and the kids drove up Wednesday morning after Band Camp. We made it to Logan but had to take a detour up through Preston, ID and drop down into Bear lake from the north. There was an accident in Logan Canyon and Daniel was told it would be closed for several hours. After an extra hour in the car we made it. Grandma and Grandpa along with Owen and Dylan came up that night. Anne and Brock and Taylor made it Thursday evening. Friday afternoon Quinn hitched a ride up with Hannah, Harvey and Caspian (their nephew that they are taking care of right now). Mekenna made it up later that night around midnight after work. We had a great time with lots cousin fun and two beach days.

Wednesday night Daniel and I with the kids had dinner at Home Town Drive In. We are getting tired of the long lines at Le Beaus and truly they all taste the same.

Thursday we just hung out at the property and the kids played and played. We had an outdoor movie thanks to Taylor which was fun but it took us two nights to finish it because it gets dark so late.

Friday and Saturday were both beach days. We had Brock's boat and Daniel rented to wave runners so we wanted to get use out of them. Friday we were at the adults favorite less crowded beach with grass. It was Raspberry Days so everywhere is crowded but there always seems to be room there. The wave runners were so much fun! All the kids tried them out this year except Owen but he did go on the boat and jump off in the deep water which was huge for him. Dylan loved the wave runner the best because he was not allowed to swim due to his broken arm. Taylor, Anne, and I water skied. Anne and I also tried to slalom but didn't quite make it up. Combined with the wave runner and I was pretty sore that night and the next day. The kids were bummed because the tube had a hole and we were not able to fix it. That night we had a party to celebrate Grandma Bibber's retirement with good food and yummy cupcakes. And all went to bed exhausted. I almost forgot that Emma tried to water ski too! I was in the water with her and helped her get the skis on and helped her get stable. Then Brock pulled her a little bit and when he hit it she got half way up! She was to nervous to try again and the ski really were too big for her. But I am so proud of her for trying! We will try again with smaller skis.

Saturday we got up and headed straight to the beach and almost didn't get a spot it was so crowded. We went to the north beach so the kids could have a day in the good sand and they loved it. Not so great for swimming though since it stays shallow for so long and we won't let the kids go out past where the boats are anchored with out an adult because it's just too busy and other people are stupid. Daniel and Taylor cooked us a yummy breakfast on the beach after many trips down to our spot with all our stuff. Cousin Missy brought Grandma Moore up for the day and Hannah's sister and her husband and baby joined us too. And then just before we left Loren and her cousin Courtney showed up. They just happened to text me and ask where we were and they were just pulling in to the same beach.  All had a blast on the boat and wave runners. Hannah and I joked about how she didn't know there were two skis on the boat. She has only ever been given one by Daniel and told to just do it. We ended the night with the rest of the outdoor movie.

Sunday was relaxing. We got up and slowly packed things away, had church and then everyone went on their way. We are so lucky to have a great place to go to and can't wait for the green grass next year now that the water is fixed!

Mia is practicing to be an Instagram influencer someday.

Wahoo Grandma now we can play all the time - oh wait - just kidding. You'll be helping Carly with twin girls for the next foreseeable future.
