Happy Halloween!

Well Quinn was out of town again for work until Saturday afternoon so it was up to me to carve pumpkins which I love. I was able to get all three pumpkins cleaned out while Emma was down for her nap and James played. After dinner Emma picked out a pumpkin face - nothing too scary. We we were done carving and I put the candle in and turned out the light to show her the finished product she would not get close to it. It made her a little nervous and she continued to tell me to put its face back in the rest of night. So much for her enjoying that this year.

.

All month we have been asking Emma what she wanted to be for Halloween. She kept telling us that she did not want to dress up. She does not enjoy getting dressed for real or for play. So we decided she would just wear a bumble bee costume we were given that fit. She protested until we reminded her that she could not go trick-or-treating and get candy without dressing up. She finally consented to put it on and looked so cute. It was the perfect costume because just as I was about to take her out it began to rain. Not just a sprinkle, a downpour. We waited several minutes for it subside a bit and then headed out. Me with my umbrella and Emma not bothered the slightest. She was so cute. As soon as we finished one house she would ask if we could go to another. She was a bit picky about which house she would go to though. She would only go to house that did not have skeletons or ghosts. Scarcrows and witches were okay though. So here are our very cute kids. If you can't tell James make the perfect Charlie Brown with his little round head.

Scary faces!

Why is it that we have to convince our children to 'dress up' so we can drag them around in the cold so they/we can get free candy?
