Week 9 - Mother's Day and last week of school work!

Sunday - I had a very happy Mother's Day. We did church, opened presents and then went to Grandma Bibber's for dinner. Grandma was sick of being apart and said we would try to sit as families and stay apart but that didn't really happen. It was pretty much like it always is and it was wonderful. The kids ran around and played, we talked and ate way too much food.

Acting out Wicked King Noah and Abinadi. Emma makes a very good King Noah.

Mia's taught about how the 10 commandments help us just like road signs.

I got handmade cards from each of the kids, a couple of movies and a new yoga mat.

Then they took me outside where I got two new chairs and a fire pit for our patio.
We can't wait to enjoy more nights out there.

Flowers from the yard.

Talking with cousins who could not be with us.

Cute Audrey and Mia.

Monday - We have begun the last week of school work!! We are so excited to be done. That afternoon I shopped for plants and got half of the planting done in the hot sun. Then sat in the basement for the rest of the evening. It was too hot upstairs and I was exhausted. I had Quinn bring home dinner for him and the kids. I just needed to be alone.

Tuesday - I helped deliver the signs from the 6th grade teachers and then spent another couple of hours finishing up the planting. The kids got school work done and chilled. I've relaxed how much time they spend on electronics this week knowing they will turn those devices back in in a week.

Loving all my flowers in the yard and our tree is growing now!

Wednesday - Only three days of school left. The kids are all in their usual places. Mia on the couch, James in the office (already done and playing a game) and Emma in the piano room not working and bugging the dog.

Thursday - This was the only picture from today that I got. Mia all cozy on the couch in her robe and blanket doing her work. Last two days! We got the kids to bed at a decent time and then Quinn and I watched the movie Midway. It was really good but I was tense through the entire movie.

Friday - Last day of school! Mia worked hard and got hers done at the normal time. James was done by 7:30 am. All he had to do was watch a video of photos from the year that his teacher made. Emma on the other hand had a few assignments to finish up. She finally finished by 4 pm. I was able to pickup books from the library again that we placed on hold. Then I did the grocery shopping. They finally have sanitizer but it's really expensive so I'm passing on that. Mia and I went for walk and decided to go up a different street then normal and found a cute art exhibit in a gazebo. We also saw a ton of kids out and about in the neighborhood. Lots were playing with friends. Quinn and I have not decided what to do yet about friends. We just not want to let them out too soon. Tomorrow our state moves from orange to yellow. Meaning business are now open and sports can start again but we still have to practice social distancing. Not sure how this work.

To celebrate being done with school we got dinner and ice cream at Dairy Queen and then ate with Grandma Lavender on her deck. It was really nice. After that we went home to watch a movie. I rented the new Call of the Wild. The first couple minutes the kids were laughing but it quickly turned to bawling from Mia and Emma kept asking why are we watching this. They did not like seeing the dog being mistreated. The girls went upstairs to watch something else. James stuck it out and finished the movie. It got much better just after the girls went upstairs and the movie ends well (at least for the dog).

We had to move inside to eat our ice cream. It got a little chilly in the shade.

Saturday - My day started with my usual hike up to Elephant Rock. The was busy again but the hill side was covered in beautiful yellow flowers. Quinn spent the afternoon working on building a display box for his baseball helmets. Emma got help from Aunt Mckenna drawing a jungle mural on one wall in her bedroom.

Not sure what these two kids were doing in these pictures other than being silly. I didn't take them so someone was messing with my phone.
