Week 33 - Family Photos and Halloween

Oct. 26th - Nov. 1st

The kids all started swimming lessons this week. Here is James' class, he is in level 4 stroke development. Mia (level 3) and Emma (level 5) are both the person in their class. Loving that they are getting basically private lessons. Emma is working on her strokes and even started learning the butterfly! She is also working on diving.

Friday we had family pictures scheduled after we delayed them one week so we could have better weather. Jana Yospe a friend from our neighborhood just started to expand her business to friends and we are so happy to have her take them. We did the shoot at Kay's Creek Park in Layton just off Highway 89. It is a popular spot as there were several other photographers there too. The kids were great and never complained.  It was nice to not have little kids that you have to bribe to smile. Even Quinn was nice enough to wear a shirt he didn't really care for because it matched. I spent several days shopping to coordinate our shirts. James will never wear his again either because it's 2 sizes too small. But it tied us all together and with the sleeves rolled up you can't tell.

Then we treated them to dinner out at TGI Fridays. After that it was back home to watch Episode 1 of the new season of the Mandalorian.

Halloween was on Saturday this year which was so nice. The kids carved and painted pumpkins that morning. A few of our pumpkins were too soft to carve because of the unexpected snow we received which caused them to freeze and thaw. But they turned out really good. That afternoon our neighborhood had a Halloween parade. We walked a loop around the neighborhood and those that didn't feel comfortable handing out candy could still see all the costumes. Several left candy on a table in their yard for the kids. This was so fun! Then that night we did about 1 1/2 hours of trick or treating. I remembered why I hate taking the kids. Normally Quinn does it and I stay home and hand out candy but since Emma made me be twiners with her I went and Quinn stayed home. Then we went to a friends house and the kids ran around playing night games. All had fun and they still got plenty of candy even though not many houses were handing it out this year.

Emma showing off the new pumpkin fangs and James painted a Madalorian symbol.
Mia and Dad created a Unicorn pumpkin because of the awesome stem on their pumpkin.
Watch out for that frying pan!

Candy, Candy, Candy!
